2009-2010 Northwest 5D Producers Guidelines
The Northwest 5D recognizes that the success of a barrel racing event is due to the hard work and speculation of the producer. Therefore, I am introducing a Northwest 5D Producer Incentive Rewards Program for your consideration.
These benefits are offered to producers holding Prime Northwest 5D races.
v If race producer sends mailing address list to the Northwest 5D office, we will mail out postcards for any race with a minimum of $750 added.
v After the 1st four races are held with a minimum of 75 contestants in attendance, the producer will receive a Northwest 5D Monogrammed Jacket.
v After eight races are held with a minimum of 75 contestants in attendance, the producer will receive a monogrammed turn-out blanket.
v Every producer who, during the season has 8 or more Prime Northwest 5D races with 75 or more contestants, will be in a drawing for a Shootout to the 2009 Finals which includes paid entry fees to all four races plus office fee for one horse. (This has a minimum value of $330) (This may be used by producer or is transferable if you choose to give it away).
v The producer shall pay $1 per contestant who participates at their Prime Northwest 5D race.
Race dates must be scheduled through the Northwest 5D office. The office will make every effort not to conflict with existing races, regardless of the association’s affiliation, following these established and accepted guidelines: $500 to less than $1,000 added per day 100 mile protection; $1,000 or more will receive 200 mile protection. If there is an existing race in close proximity on the same day as you would like to schedule yours, and neither of you are protected mileage wise, please try and schedule the start times so racers could attend both if they so choose.
Co-Sanctioning: Northwest 5D invites and encourages co-sanctioning, and those events will be will governed by the prime associations’ rules. If the Northwest 5D is not the prime sanction, then members will pay an additional $2 per run, per horse.
5D Format will be: 1D: Fastest time.
2D: Fast time plus .5 seconds
3D: Fast time plus 1.0 second
4D: Fast time plus 1.5 second
5D: Fast time plus 2 seconds
Payout percentages 1D 26%, 2D 22%, 3D 20%, 4D 18%, 5D 14%. All added money must be included in these percentages.
The last place in the 5th D should pay back no less than the amount of the entry fee. If there are 10 riders or less, payoff may be less than the entry fee. The maximum number of places paid must be used when figuring payoff.

If you anticipate a payoff larger than 12 place contact the office and we will send the appropriate scale. Round off to the nearest dollar (drop off cents).
If times breakdown where one division has no riders in it, payoff must be 40%, 35%, 25%. If only two divisions have riders then 60%, 40%, and if only 1 then 100% goes into that division.
Draws should be done randomly and fairly. Rider with more than one horse may not change drawn position for horses.
Producer cannot retain more than 30% of the entry fee. Producer reserves the right to charge an additional office/arena/processing fee of their determination.
There are no stipulations on added money for races but amounts should be advertised in advance. Northwest 5D approves of the progressive added money format.
Race results: Please try and submit results, preferably by email to the Northwest 5D office within 24 hours to rodeorose@ados.net or fax (503-543-7936), along with a list of the NW5D members who paid their money. Hard copies do not need to be sent with the check if you have already emailed or faxed me the results.
v Results shall include a list of all contestants, including no times, the Northwest 5D membership number, times, and money won.
v Run fee of $1 per run is to be paid for all contestants if it is a Prime Northwest 5D race, and if a co-sanctioned race, the Northwest 5D members pay $2.
v All Northwest 5D membership fees collected.
