Northwest 5D

2009-2010 Guidelines

The Northwest 5D was created to reduce the traditional gap in payouts between the normal 3D and 4D range.

Annual membership dues are $40 and additional horses are $25 each with dues being paid before points or qualification counts are kept.  This year you may pay $40 plus $24 ($64) up front and you will be qualified for the finals.  Family memberships are $95 for 3 or more members living under the same roof (one horse per member).  Annual membership season will be June 1, 2009 to June 1, 2010, and a membership card will be issued.  Those members joining in the inaugural 2006-2007 year will enjoy a lifetime annual membership fee of $40 with continuous renewal.  You are required to pay $2 per membership at each race to accumulate points or qualification races.

A.    Point accumulation: You must pay $2 per race and points will be awarded on money won, one point for each dollar.  Points will be kept overall versus in the 1D, 2D, 3D, 4D, & 5D Divisions.    So regardless of which Division you win a check in, only the money won will be counted and kept track of (like AW, BRN4D).  I will not go down the list and give points where no money was won.  There will be no double or triple points, just the true amount of money won.  If you don’t win money, the entry will still count towards the qualification number required to run for (trailers if possible) saddles, etc.  A Saddle to first and awards to the Overall Top 10 will be awarded to the highest point earners for the year.

B.     Award Qualification:  All Northwest 5D members must attend a minimum of 12 sanctioned races per membership to qualify for year-end awards at the Finals Race.  If you have 2 memberships then 24 races are needed to qualify, 3 memberships need 24 races etc.  At the 2010 Finals there will be awards given to the Top Ten in each of the 5 Divisions in the average (a Sudden Death).  If trailers aren’t given, saddles will be the guaranteed first place award.

Each membership must attend 12 races to qualify to run for the awards during the Finals, and 27 regular season plus the 3 at the 2010 Finals to be eligible for any additional bonus programs that may be offered.

If you have any questions regarding the point system, please contact me.

The 2010 Northwest Finals race will be held in conjunction with the race at Strobel’s Arena on the July 4th week-end.  That race will remain open to the World, (everyone who wants to enter), and Strobel’s Arena will award saddles and awards for that week-end just as in previous years.  The Overall 2010 Northwest 5D Top Ten awards will be presented the during the Finals week-end.  The Top Ten in the average in each of the 5 Divisions will be awarded to qualifying Northwest 5D members at the Finals.
